"Hi" - I'm Jenny
I am currently the principal for TechEd Collective as well as an adjunct professor for Stevens-Henager College. I have over 5 years of experience developing curriculum and creating content for synchronous and asynchronous learning situations. My experience includes creating objectives, metrics for measuring objectives, class syllabi, class assignments, assessments, lessons and all content for over 20 classes. Lectures have included interactive powerpoint presentations, recorded tutorials, webinars and the old-fashioned lecture from the podium.
On a personal note... I started off as a high school english teacher and evolved into the field of graphic design where I had a successful career change for over ten years. Six years ago I got the opportunity to combine my love of teaching with my passion for technology and design by developing a graphic art's curriculum for a local college. This process was lengthy and included writing objectives, course syllabi, textbook selection, assessments, creating course content and hiring and training faculty. Over the course of years, I have worked with a variety of Learning Management Systems including Blackboard, Canvas, Edmoto, Moodle and Elearning. I have found that I can easily to adjust to any LMS and I am able to utilize the capabilities provided in each system. I have also come to rely on outside technology to enhance the classrooms and as a current member of ISTE (International Society of Technology in Education) I was blown away by what they are doing with technology in education when I attended their conference earlier this year.
I am extremely familiar with writing curriculum that meets stringent accreditation standards and my formal education in secondary education also provides me the knowledge to write curriculum on a variety of levels depending on the learning outcome. I am committed to providing an engaging experience for the learner and my classes consist of a variety of learning techniques that employ multiple modalities in learning. I also utilize technology whenever possible to encourage students to be more interactive with the content even when we are not physically in the classroom.
I am currently available for contract positions to develop classes for online delivery and to train faculty to better utilize their LMS for students. Please contact me to schedule training or for pricing on any project. My fees can be project-based, hourly or even grant-based as I have experience writing RFPs and assisting schools with applying for funding.
